What’s the next big thing that’s going to hit the food scene?
Cooking with perfumes.
Do you have a favourite food writer and why?
Calvin Trillin. He’s funny, insightful and I love that he loved his wife so much.
Who taught you to cook?
What’s the hottest item on your shopping list?
Nathan Myhrvold’s Modernist Cuisine books and a paco jet, and a sous vide cooker, really? You shouldn’t have asked me, the list goes on and on…
What are you most looking forward to about FBC12?
The people, the conversations and of course the eating.
What motivated you to blog about food?
The memories and nostalgia associated with food are a very important part of my life. I wanted to document them along with my favorite recipes from the Middle East.
What’s your favourite part of the food blogging process? And the most negative?
My favorite part is the process of creating the post, from cooking to styling & shooting and then writing. My least favorite part is having to sift through hundreds of photos to find the perfect picture.
How has food blogging changed your life?
Definitely. It changed my relationship with food. Before it was all about the process of eating. Now, it’s about creating and innovating. Ironically, my food blog was the reason I finally lost all my college weight.
