What are you looking forward to learning and enjoying at FBC this year?

Being with dedicated food bloggers rather than a mix of blogging genres.

Is blogging your full time job? If not, what is your day job? Would you like to become a full time blogger and focus your professional career in this area?

Blogging is a part time job, I work in recruitment when not blogging and do freelance writing. Yes, I would love to become a full time blogger/freelance writer.

How do you think brands could work better with bloggers? How would you describe your relationship with industry folk?

I like working with brands if they fit my blog and have always had good experiences with them. Keep communicating is the key.

From where do you get inspiration for your blog posts?

From what I am eating that week. I feature proper food cooked by me and my family at our beach hut and home.

Beach Hut Cooking

What is your signature dish?

Chorize and Clams Cooked on the Beach (here).

How do you shop for food – supermarkets, farmer markets, local shops, online etc?
I love a pay day Waitrose but find the great prices and quality at Aldi hard to beat.

Finish this sentence: “For me, the ultimate food heaven is…”

For me, the ultimate food heaven is…eating at our beach hut with family and good friends from breakfast right through to supper time. Woolly jumpers and blankets at the ready.

How many cookbooks do you own? What cookbooks have you added to your collection recently?

I own over 350 cookbooks and it’s still not enough. My latest addition was a 1970’s M&S Drinks book which is fab and utterly absorbing and not just for the recipes but the fashion and furnishings.

Do you have a favourite kitchen tool or appliance – either a new addition or a trusted old favourite?

My favourite appliance is the grill element on our campstove which we use in the beach hut. A cup of proper tea and jam and toast after a sea swim is a knock out.

How is your lifestyle shaped by food?

Our life at the beach hut had shaped our food because we only eat easy to prepare and cook food when we are down there. Although our house is only a short walk away, it’s the time together that’s important not cooking for ages and ages and wasting precious fun time.
