Whisk Featuring at FBC12

Come and visit the team behind Whisk  (@WhiskTeamat the #FBC12 Market at 4pm Friday, and 12 noon on Saturday and Sunday for an exclusive Whisk preview and a taste of the team’s favourite dishes. Whisk will also be there explaining how you can generate revenue from your recipes.

Generally, food and tech don’t go into the same sentence, but Nick Holzherr (@NickHolzherr) and Craig Edmunds (@CraigTech), key players in tech and great food lovers devised the concept of Whisk (@WhiskTeam), crafting the technical possibilities to create a free service that brings together online recipes with online shopping.

Whisk enables shoppers to add all the ingredients they need for a dish straight to their online supermarket basket of choice, from recipes on the Internet.

Food bloggers and recipe publishers can add the Whisk button to their recipes, making it easier for readers to cook the recipes they see. Also, the recipe content becomes a source of revenue for bloggers. This fee comes from supermarkets.

The team is made up of avid food lovers- they even have their own food blog at www.whisk.co.uk/blog. The blog will feature food facts, tips, and recipes; some of the recipes are their own concoctions, others have been created by well-known chefs.

When asked about Whisk and food blogging, Nick said:

Food bloggers are having such a positive effect on the food industry, and with Whisk, we wanted to make it easier for people to cook the food they read about.

Eating well is so important, and food bloggers give us inspiration to do just that. We believe that food bloggers deserve something back for the content they provide: every time a Whisk button is used from a blog to buy ingredients, the blogger will receive an affiliate fee for that transaction.

We love checking out blogs and recipe websites to get inspiration and new dishes to try. Right now, the team are really into Eat Like A Girl, The English Chef, The Faux Martha and the recipe website Great British Chefs.
