Alfred Vogel cared a lot about the enjoyment of good food and healthy living, believing that: “The best quality of life could be achieved by maintaining a well-balanced diet of wholesome natural foods.” And what better place to start than the ‘humble’ loaf? Alfred wanted to create bread full of wholesome and natural ingredients, making it simple and enjoyable for anyone and everyone to get essential nutrients into their everyday diet. So Vogel’s bread has been baking delicious and nutritious loaves for over 60 years now. Every loaf is made by a real baker, in a real bakery. We make our breads properly, with no emulsifiers, artificial preservatives or raising agents. There’s less flour and more seeds (12,516 per loaf to be precise – give or take one or two) we believe this makes Vogel’s the tastiest toast. Just listening to those seeds and grains popping in the toaster makes our mouth water!
We want to get involved with FBC this year as we think it’s a great opportunity to make our online community stronger and spread the word of Vogel’s ethos. We will be popping a half loaf of Vogel’s Soya & Linseed bread in blogger’s goodie bags along with a little hello letter from us, so that bloggers can give our bread the tasty toast test!

Vogel’s is also available in the vast majority of Waitrose stores, many Tesco and Sainsbury’s stores, Morrisons stores in the south of England and South Midlands, as well as in a limited number of Co-op and Budgens stores, from £1.50. We have an online shop coming soon on our new website.

How has social media helped you connect and engage more with a wider audience and particularly bloggers?
We are always on the look out for new ways to use bread and social media is the best way to find out new creative ways that the blogger community are utilising bread in their recipe inventions.
What positive effect are food, travel, or lifestyle bloggers having on the industry?
We love the street food trend and see the humble sandwich as the forefather of the Bunny chow!
If you could tell people to eat one thing more often what would it be and why?
