Didn’t get enough Terra Rossa (@TerraRossaUK) from FBC last year or the chance to taste it yet!? Not to fret, together, we invite you to enjoy their delicious Arabian mezze made using their Great Taste Award winning ingredients at the FBC strEAT Party as they return once more this June!
The mezze ranges from Taboula, Lebny, Freekeh, Baba Ghanouch, Harissa Houmous, Beetroot Taratour with Pine nuts Salad to grilled Haloumi Cheese and Watermelon.
These dishes are created by the founder of Terra Rossa, Hanan Samara, an Iraqi-born British Palestinian who’s passionate about Middle-Eastern cuisine. Hanan opened the doors to Terra Rossa (named after the Biblical name given to the Levant and fertile crescent of the Middle East) to introduce the mostly unexplored Arabian flavours to the UK – starting with two of the most fundamental everyday ingredients: Zait & Zaatar – Arabic for olive oil and a scrumptious mix of thyme, sesame seeds and sumac. Zait and Zaatar is traditionally eaten for breakfast and as a snack or an aperitif by dipping a piece of bread into the oil and then into the Zaatar but is also well known as the famous topping for Manaqeesh – the ubiquitous Levant Pizza.
Now in its 8th year, Terra Rossa has earned its name in the food industry and its products have achieved no less than 37 Great Taste Awards some of which are repeat winners year after year. The products range from olive oils such as the Sinolea cold-dripped EVOO, Basil, Lemon, Chilli and Garlic infused oils to dipping and herb mixes such as Spicy Dukka, Zesty Sumac and Baharat. As well as sourcing ingredients from Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon, Terra Rossa also produces its own hand-made range of Arabian sauces such as Dukka Harissa, Fiery Zhoug and Olive & Tomato Relish.
Terra Rossa’s range is not confined to savoury flavours as it also offers Pistachio & Apricot Nougat, Manna from Heaven and Sugared Almonds and distributes Lebanese products including Date and Pomegranate Molasses, Orange and Rose Blossom Waters and Tahini. Terra Rossa’s Award-Winning range is also perfect as gifts for foodies being beautifully presented as dipping kits with hand-painted Palestinian dipping bowls, corrugated cartons and hampers.
Just how did Terra Rossa hear about FBC and what can attendees expect this year?
Well, Hanan met FBC founder and Middle Eastern cookery author Bethany Kehdy a couple of years ago at the Hampton Court and Bristol Foodies shows where they were both giving presentations at the food demonstration theatre! Since their Mezze dishes are popular street food in the Middle East, the FBC5 strEAT party was the ideal event to present the Terra Rossa’s range last year, and we’re coming back to FBC14 for more!
Terra Rossa will be featuring the traditional fresh Arabian mezze dishes and dips! We are really excited about showcasing new products so look out for the Freekeh Balls & Muhammara.

Hanan is usually found with her team at a great number of Consumer and Trade Food exhibitions, local farmer and producer markets. To help promote Arabic cuisine on an International level, in 2012 Hanan co-hosted an 8-episode series with celebrity chef Sophie Grigson for the Travel Channel, which was aired around the world. They travelled the length and breadth of Jordan to promote Jordanian Heritage and cuisine, meeting local farmers, producers and cooking and tasting new flavours along the way.
