At BOL, we don’t think you should compromise just because you’re busy. That’s why we’ve taken the world’s best dishes and added our own special twist.
Every BOL is under 450 calories, packed with delicious, wholesome ingredients and is ready to eat in under 4 minutes. We also have vegetarian, vegan, wheat free and dairy free options and will soon be launching some high-protein BOLs. You can find BOL in the healthy chilled meals section of Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Ocado.

We heard about FBC through our partnership with Eat Chiswick at the #FBC15 #strEATParty and can’t wait!
What other events do you take part in throughout the year?

We only launched in May of this year so we’re pretty new to the scene. We’d love to get more involved and hope this event is just the start.

Tell us a little bit about who you are. Your influence and your inspirations? How did you get started? Is there any great story behind why you set up your business? Why have you chosen this route and what do you love most?

Paul set up the business. Here’s the story behind BOL: I never quite made it as a professional snowboarder. Or footballer. Or rugby player for that matter. But despite not hitting the big leagues, playing sport taught me how to eat well.

Good food has always been a big part of my life. My Dad opened the first wine bar in Manchester, my Mum had her own catering company and I grew up on the most incredible homecooked meals. When I started working between Manchester Bol Thai Curryand London, eating well suddenly became a lot trickier. When I didn’t have time to cook, finding quick, tasty & healthy meals was next to impossible. I’d always have to compromise on taste, health, quality or price. Some of the best meals I’ve eaten on my travels came from little street stalls, serving fresh, tasty and healthy food. In the UK, most people don’t have a ramen stand at the end of their street. But supermarkets are everywhere.

So in 2014, with the help of expert nutritionists, top chefs and some friends who feel the same way about food as I do, I set up BOL. BOL is all about making the most amazing dishes from around the world, fresh and ready to eat whenever you like. I can’t promise BOL will make you jump higher or win any medals. But I can promise it will always be interesting, healthy and deliciously good for you.

If you could cook for anyone – dead or alive, cook/ celebrity/ public figure – anyone! Who would it be and why?

Yotam Ottolenghi. He takes natural, fresh ingredients and creates incredible food that’s delicious and healthy

 How do you see the street food revolution growing or changing?

We definitely see authentic world cuisine and the amazing and original tastes of the street food scene inspiring our dishes.

If you could tell people to eat one thing more often what would it be and why?

Broccoli: it’s hugely underrated from a taste point of view, but cooked well, it’s amazing. Also it’s also very beneficial from a nutritional perspective
