Roman blogger Elisa from Kitty’s Kitchen travelling to #FBC5

Roman blogger Elisa (@elisakitty), travelling from Italy for #FBC5, chatted with us about her blog, Kitty’s Kitchen.

What are you most looking forward to about #FBC5?

I’m looking forward to learn something in writing, photography and meet people with the same passions.

What motivated you to blog about food and how has food blogging changed your life?

My love for cooking was the true motivation to open my blog, and that’s become a total addiction, I couldn’t stop doing recipes and post, and photograph, and share, and than start again.

Do you blog full time or, if not, what’s your day job? What does your family/partner think of your blog?

I’m a private banker. My parents think it is a nice hobby but I should focus more on my real job! 🙂 My partner, sommelier like me, motivates me so much.

What are your future aspirations for the blog? From where do you get inspiration and who taught you to cook?

I would love to continue collaborating with some new magazine or to write reviews of restaurants. The inspiration for recipe are my cookbooks, magazines and other foodbloggers, but most of all comes from something I try during trips abroad or cooking classes I attend.

Which other food bloggers do you follow most closely? Tell us something you learned from reading blogs you probably wouldn’t know otherwise?

I follow most Italian foodbloggers: Jul’s kitchen, l’amaranto e il melograno, vaniglia cooking, cavoletto… etc. But i really love Betrice Peltre and Katie Quinn Davis, my favorites, for the moment. Reading the blogs, first of all I learned that telling a story is a good way to have a successful blog.

What’s your favourite/least favourite food? What’s been your ultimate meal to date? And what would your last meal be?

I love risotto and seafood and i hate peppers. My ultimate meal to date is surely this one.  My last meal should be foie gras with and sautern, chateau d’yquem. 🙂

How many cookbooks do you own? Who is your favourite celebrity chef and and who is your favourite food writer? Why?

At the moment I’ve got 111 cookbooks. My favorite chef is my boyfriend… And my favorite foodwriter at the moment is Katie Quinn Davis, because she has a different style in foodphotography.

What’s your signature dish?

Avocado chocolate pudding

Do you have a favourite kitchen tool/appliance? What’s the hottest item on your shopping list? (can be current foodie favourite or a desired gadget/book etc)

Maybe my favorite tool are my bentos. In the wishlist for the moment there is a new icecream maker, but electric this time!
