Ren Behan (@RenBehan) is a UK-based food writer and blogger with Polish heritage. She started writing her blog, Fabulicious Food! (www.renbehan.com) in November 2010, whilst on a maternity/career break from the law. Alongside starting her blog, she also took a Diploma in Food Journalism, which she completed recently with Distinction. Ren has also taken a Food Styling Course at Leith’s School of Food and Wine with BBC Good Food’s Sarah Cook and has enjoyed developing her writing, styling and photography skills through her blog. Ren’s blog has been highlighted by Channel 4.com and Woman and Home and was also a finalist in the Outstanding Category at Britmums 2012, having been described as, “an enchanting, beautiful food blog.”
As well as being inspired by fresh, seasonal and family-friendly food, Ren has enjoyed exploring her Polish heritage through food, collecting family recipes and re-creating them with a modern twist for the readers of her blog. Ren has now set up a new recipe site called My Polish Kitchen (www.mypolishkitchen.co.uk) and is also starting to teach cookery classes and run Polish pop-ups.
As an emerging freelance food writer, Ren has also written restaurant reviews for Flavour Magazine, London and articles and reviews for the award-winning The Foodie Bugle. She is also a keen public speaker, giving a lecture recently at the University of Hertfordshire on the topic of How Blogging Can Lead to a Career in Journalism.
