Regine Wilber

Food has always been a personal passion of Regine Wilber (@EssenceDesignUK). Born and brought up in the former East Germany, her childhood memories of exotic food were rather limited – with bananas being rationed to one per person when available at all (resulting in the lasting reputation of the whole nation as banana fanatics when the wall came down). Looking back, she values the experience of the other extreme of branding and consumerism.
After completing a degree in DTP and typography, she moved to the UK in 1997. London not only opened her eyes to the amazing variety of ingredients and the buzz of the London food markets, it also inspired her to become more creatively involved in the design agency where she worked as an artworker.  She completed a BA in graphic design and art direction at the London Institute (Central St. Martins) and gained invaluable experience in a large design agency. Following a stint of freelancing in London, she started her own brand consultancy, Essence Design, and is currently working with clients in London, the Midlands, Scotland and France.
Regine has won several awards and her work has been published in various marketing and design books. She has never considered herself someone who just makes things look pretty, but is striving to look beyond graphic design to help clients recognise the potential of developing a brand. She joined the blogger’s sphere a few years ago with her blog More Than Just a Logo.  There, she explores all things brand related and is trying to make sense of the marketing talk with real world examples and observations.

Regine Wilber  is speaking at #FBC5 on “Buy Me Branding” and holding an open workshop for those looking a hands-on and indepth look into branding.

In the “Buy Me Branding” session, Regine will be giving some insights into the importance of branding and building brand reputation for businesses or (food) bloggers and how to start the journey of building a brand with some practical ideas looking at the food market in particular.
