Learn About Direct Monetisation at #FBC5 with Nick Carter of Sous Chef

Nick Carter is the Co-Founder of Sous Chef (@souscheftweet), the award-winning online shop for adventurous cooks and will be talking about Direct Monetization – outlining techniques bloggers can use to profit directly from their content and traffic.  This will include a primer on digital display advertising, affiliate marketing and sponsored content, techniques to get the most out of each type of marketing, potential returns and suggestions for further reading on each topic.  He will also cover practical tips on optimising these approaches, the major participants in each field, and give an advertiser’s perspective on these marketing channels.  The session with be followed by a Q&A in which participants are encouraged to share their experiences of blog monetisation.

Sous Chef is a family business, run by Nick and his wife Nicola (@souscheftweet), both of whom left city careers behind to pursue their passion.  Nicola brings culinary expertise having trained at Leith’s and Gauthier Soho together with her previous professional experience helping businesses grow as a venture capital investor and strategy consultant.


Nick focuses on finance, operations and marketing, leveraging his previous experience as an investment banker covering the retail and media industries.  He devised and implemented Sous Chef’s marketing strategy and has hands-on experience of on and offline marketing as both as an advertiser and publisher.
