Marriage’s (www.flour.co.uk) has been milling flour in Essex since 1824. Founded by twins William and Henry nearly 200 years ago, today the fifth and sixth generations of the Marriage family continue the milling tradition. We source the best quality wheat, much from farmers within 30 miles of Chelmer Mills, including our own arable farms.

Our flour is produced using a combination of the traditional techniques we have trusted for generations, including hundred year old horizontal French Burr stones, and the best modern milling technology.

Marriage’s home baking range has won more than 30 Great Taste Awards, and includes organic, speciality and traditional stoneground flours for making breads, cakes and pastry. We also supply artisan and independent bakeries.

Industry Partner FBC15How did you hear about FBC? Tell us why you would like to take part in FBC this year and how you will be featuring your product or brand to connect with the community of bloggers?

We’re excited to be sharing some new flours, launching soon, with the FBC blogger community – we’ll be giving away a 1kg bag of flour in every goody bag at the event.

FBC registered attendees from around the world will be going home knowing more about your product and its flavour! How can other non registered bloggers get their hands on your product? Where can they find it if they wanted to order or connect with you?

How can bloggers and brands work better together?Do you work with any bloggers currently or plan to? 
We’ve worked with some bloggers already, doing giveways and product reviews when they’ve tried out our flours but would definitely be keen to work with more bloggers in future.

How has social media helped you connect and engage more with a wider audience and particularly bloggers?

We love seeing photos on Twitter and Facebook of bakes that people have made using our flours. Social media has definitely opened us up to a wider audience online. It’s also helps us answer home bakers more technical questions about flour and baking performance.

What do you value in a blog? To achieve a successful blog (from an industry perspective) what comes first – the dishes, the styling, the photography or the words? 

Interesting content is important – but so is attractive photography. Often there’s a natural overlap with lifestyle and travel.

If you could tell people to eat one thing more often what would it be and why? 

Eat more homemade bread – or buy from an independent, artisan bakery! We also have a range of bread, cake and pastry recipes on our website – whether you have a long time to bake, or only want to make something speedy http://flour.co.uk/recipes
