Introducing Nazima of Franglais Kitchen

Based in Cambridge, Nazima is the blogger behind Franglais Kitchen (@franglaiscook).  Franglais Kitchen is a food blog that incorporates foodie influences from France, England and India.  This year she is attending FBC#5 with her blogger buddy Laura Scott of How to Cook Good Food (@Laura_howtocook).

What are you most looking forward to about #FBC5?
Getting more SEO wise and getting photography inspiration.

What do you look for in an ideal ‘buddy’?
Afriend and similar outlook on life.

How did you meet your #FBC5 ‘buddy’?
Various events and online for the last year or so.

What experience at #FBC5 are you most looking forward to sharing with your ‘buddy’?
Social events

What about your ‘buddy’s’ blog inspires you the most?
Good recipes, solid and reliable, lovely writing and inspired flavours.

 If you could cook one recipe from your own blog for your new ‘buddy’ what would it be?
A fish recipe – the pot roast cod with saffron and fennel pollen perhaps as I know she likes fish.

What does your family/partner think of your blog?
He likes it and contributes in all aspects – inspiration and recipe development, as well as cooking the food.

Future aspirations for the blog?
Incorporating the content from my old blog (workinglondonmummy), making it really user friendly and inspirational.

 

Tell us something you learned from reading blogs you probably wouldn’t know otherwise.
The joy of making sourdough.

What’s been your ultimate meal to date?
A dinner at Club Gascon. The dessert of ‘fried egg on toast’ was a coconut and passion fruit mousse constructed like an egg, atop a piece of pain d’epice and with a strawberry compote serving as ketchup.

Favourite kitchen tool/appliance?
Kenwood chef

What’s the hottest item on your shopping list?
A vitamix.

What effects do you think the rise of blogging has had?
A mass of data on what to eat, how to cook it, where to go and what to order without leaving home. Whilst there will always be a pleasure in having and reading cookbooks I love being able to research recipes by comparing those done by a myriad of other bloggers and food writers.
