Funky Levantine street-food eatery Zaroob (@Zaroob247), will be hosting the FBCDubai Roaming Workshop delegates on the 4th of October. A much loved homegrown brand, Zaroob, means “alleyway”. It was created as a passion project, a desire to see Arab street food elevated through design, quality and presentation.
The street-style dishes served up by the eatery are available throughout the Levant and are hugely popular with Arabs who crave a dash of old city nostalgia in sleek big city-Dubai. The colorful, collage-like interiors reflect this nostalgia through the use of vintage ads, pop art and street art. It is a playful and whimsical place. Arabs love the cultural references and tourists and non-Arab residents delight in getting a glimpse into something that few get to see or understand. The graffiti-filled fences, comic art walls, and funky bright interiors provide plenty of photo opportunities for diners and for that reason it is one of the most photographed restaurants in Dubai.
The menu experience is true to concept – from warm flatbreads lovingly kneaded and fire-cooked on the spot, to the best shawarma and hummus in town (so say many). The street-style open kitchens and the fresh juice bar make the spot vibrant with activity and aromas.
