60 seconds with Sukaina Rajabali of Lick My Spoon

Today we are meeting the lovely Sukaina Rajabali from Dubai, UAE. Sukaina is the food blogger behind www.lick-my-spoon.blogspot.com

 

What motivated you to blog about food?

I started the food blog after surviving Hodgkins Lymphoma and having my first baby. I didn’t want life to pass me by and wanted to do something that I loved- food and photography.

What’s your signature dish?

I wouldn’t say it’s a signature dish but I often get asked the recipe for my cinnabon rolls, gulab jamun and nutellla doughnuts.

Where do you get inspiration from?

I get inspiration from other food blogs, cookbooks, my mom, food magazines and TV shows.

What’s your favorite part of the food blogging process?

My favourite part of the food blogging process is the photography side and connecting with my readers.

Do you blog full time? What’s your day job?

I don’t blog full time. I’m a mom full time and recently started photographing professionally and freelance as a food writer and photographer for a local magazine.

Favorite kitchen tool/appliance?

My favourite kitchen tool is my bread maker.

Future aspirations for the blog?

I’d love my blog to serve as a portfolio for my aspiring food photography business. I want to freelance for food magazines through my blog and eventually write a cookbook and be famous!

What does your family/partner think of your blog?

My partner loves the blog as he gets to try new desserts that I wouldn’t have made otherwise.

Who taught you to cook?

I’m a self-taught cook and my mom has had a major influence on my cooking. She’s a wizard in the kitchen.
