Today, we are meeting with Christine Chan from London. Christine is the food blogger behind The Bountiful Plate
What motivated you to blog about food?
I’ve only started blogging since January 2011, mainly as a way to remind myself of my dining, baking and cooking experience; but also to challenge myself to try out different recipes.
Any comical kitchen failures?
When I tried to make brioche buns for the first time, they turned out more like the texture of heavy, lumpy scones than a soft, fluffy bun. I could have seriously hurt someone with them!
What’s your favorite part of the food blogging process?
The whole creative process of food blogging
How has food blogging changed your life?
Food blogging has really challenged me to think outside of the box of my life. From the research of a recipe, learning about food styling and photography to the final taste test – it’s made me believe I can pick up new skills.
Do you blog full time? What’s your day job?
I work within financial services full time but find the opportunity to bake, cook, eat out and blog any chance I get.
Future aspirations for the blog?
I’d love to continue baking and improving my writing and photography skills so readers who visit will find it interesting and be able to relate to the contents of my blog.
What does your family/partner think of your blog?
I’m very fortunate to have a husband who fully supports my blogging and who loves cooking. He also contributes recipes to my blog.
