Food Blogger Connect 2011, held at The Hempel Hotel in West London, was yet again another successful edition. Food bloggers and other food industry professionals gathered together to connect and network, helping to inspire and nurture community, creativity, innovation & professionalism. Food bloggers received valuable advice from award-winning, star profile, guest speakers with talks, hands-on workshops, and demonstrations. It was also a golden opportunity to interact with other like minded food bloggers from across England but even as far as Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Russia, the UAE, Canada and the U.S.A., marking FBC as the leading food blogger’s conference and forum for food bloggers and industry folks in Europe, truly international in scope.
The list of award-winning speakers was extensive…
Beginner to established food bloggers came to indulge and learn more about food blogging, WordPress, SEO and to discover practical advice on landing book deals, magazine features, video blogging, recipe development, along with photography and styling techniques.
Key note speaker, Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen led the conference with great tips on numerous topics including monetizing food blogs.
Other Speakers included Fiona Beckett, from The Guardian, Babette Pepaj from BakeSpace and Tim Hayward of Fire & Knives
and Alex Mead, Editor of Food & Travel Magazine
The graceful Indian chef and cookbook author Anjum Anand demonstrated how to make her recipe for courgette carpaccio served with a lovely chickpea salsa which she prepared using Cuisinart’s Hand Blender and Griddle and Grill.
Watch Anjum Anand’s cooking demo at Food Blogger Connect 2011, filmed by Nando Cuca.
Then there was the highly anticipated and well-received Food Photography and Styling Workshop with the talented Beatrice Peltre of Tartine Gourmande.
Our wonderful brand partners Olives from Spain hosted a generous brunch on Sunday and everyone gathered around chef Caroline MiLi Artiss as she demonstrated her spicy black Olives from Spain tapenade which she whizzed up so charismatically in the Cuisinart Food Processor.
Watch how it all happened here.
And in true food blogging style, there were platters of passed canapes, buffets of fresh food, FireFly Tonics . . .
and assortments of Red and White wines from Chateau Ksara, Lebanon Wines
along with a paired wine and cheese tasting from Half Wine and French Goats Cheese.
Breaks were filled with fresh coffee which was prepared using the Cuisinart Espresso & Grind and Brew machines, bowls of delicious Olives from Spain, a selection of the finest French Goats Cheese, and delicate handmade chocolates from Leila Brandao of Petits Delices.
And as always FBC11 Goodie Bags & Prize Giveaways made a lot of buzz…
