Aine Morris is Head of Communications at Sustainable Food Trust (@SusFoodTrust) in Bristol, a sustainable food charity that focuses on how to move from the food systems we have, to the food systems we need in the future. She edits the website www.sustainablefoodtrust.org, and works to bring about increased collaboration amongst all those working for better food.
After setting up Sheffield’s first organic lunch-box scheme, Aine won a scholarship to study at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy. She moved to Slow Food’s International headquarters in Bra, where she lived and worked as an undergraduate student. It was here that she co-founded the Youth Food Movement, (an international network of students, activists, chefs and producers), and coordinated youth participation in Slow Food’s bi-annual meeting of world food communities, Terra Madre. She graduated from the University in 2011, and since her return to the UK, she has worked as Communications Director for the Soil Association’s Organic Food Festival, and designed diploma content for the School of Artisan Food. Aine is also a mother, vegetable grower, and fermentation enthusiast.
Speaking at #FBC5, Aine will be looking at the topic of ‘What is Sustainable Food?‘ and investigating the important role that food bloggers can play in enabling the transition from the food systems we have, to the food systems we need.
