Today we are meeting the lovely Snejana Simeonova from London. Snejana is the food blogger behind Orange Thyme.
What celebrity or celebrity chef would you most like to break bread with? Why?
Actually I like most of the celebrity chefs, because there is always something interesting to learn from everyone. I’d go for Jamie Oliver, Raymond Blanc and Peggy Porschen, please!
Any comical kitchen failures?
There are many but the most recent one: A friend invited me to make cupcakes together. I was used to a specific brand of raising agent but she was using another brand of it. I put in so much the cupcakes literally exploded in the oven. Since then I use self-raising flour.
Where do you get inspiration from?
I am very easy to get inspired. It can be a picture, music, pieces of conversation, mentioning of ingredients/foods, other blogs, cookbooks, travel books and so on.
What’s your favorite part of the food blogging process?
My favorite part is the photographing of food.
Favorite kitchen tool/appliance?
I’ve recently given up my blender for a marble pestle and mortar and can’t imagine how I’ve lived without.
What do you find most challenging about blogging
The food writing part of it is still a bit of a mystery for me.
Tell us something you learned from reading blogs you probably wouldn’t know otherwise?I always learn new things (cooking tips, photography tips) from blogs and books. What I like in blogs is the feedback and the interactivity – If I have a question about a post or a recipe it is fast and easily answered.
