Today we are meeting the lovely Nic from Kent, UK. Nic is the food blogger behind Cherrapeño.
What’s your signature dish?
Not sure if I have one in particular, but my Toblerone Pots and Chocolate Mallow Gateaux are frequently requested.
How many cookbooks do you own?
I’ve been collecting them for years, so I have too many to count. My very first one was Madhur Jaffrey’s Indian Cookery, rather battered now but still a favourite.
What’s your least favorite food?
Eggs, as in boiled, scrambled, fried etc.
Any comical kitchen failures?
Loads! One failure was when I made a Christmas Vegetable & Lentil Pie – I rolled out the pastry using icing sugar instead of flour!
What would your last meal be?
A good chocolate mousse, followed by sticky toffee pudding, ending with a tiramisu!
Where do you get inspiration from?
Life, travel, other food blogs.
Favorite kitchen tool/appliance?
I recently got a beautiful KitchenAid mixer, I adore it and wish I’d bought one years ago.
What does your family/partner think of your blog?
They enjoy the variety of dishes that I make for it, and after 4 years have become well trained in asking if I’ve photographed the dessert before they get stuck in.
Who taught you to cook?
Mainly my mum, and the compulsory school cooking lessons every week.
