What’s the hottest item on your shopping list?
Chia seeds, an assortment of nut butters and a Vitamix.
Where do you buy your groceries and why?
If I could I’d only go to Whole Foods but since that’s not an option in Germany or Austria I try to buy most of my groceries at farmers markets..
What celebrity or celebrity chef would you most like to break bread with? Why?
I’ve always been inspired by Alain Coumont, founder of Le Pain Quotidien, for his creative thinking and out-of-the box recipes and would do anything to meet him.
What are you most looking forward to about #FBC12?
I’m most looking forward to meeting a fantastic, creative and inspiring group of people and taking part in the workshops. I’m particularly excited about the photography workshops.
What motivated you to blog about food?
After overcoming an eating disorder I discovered the beauty and versatility of food and started spending more time in the kitchen, creating recipes, cooking for friends and family which led me to creating my blog.
How has food blogging changed your life?
Ever since starting my blog I changed the way I eat and look at food. I’m more conscious about where my food comes from and try to choose to eat more local and organic produce; The best part though is that I’ve discovered so many new blogs that I couldn’t live without anymore. And most importantly, I’ve discovered the deliciousness of nut butters 🙂
What’s your favourite part of the food blogging process? And the most negative?
I love food photography and am constantly trying to improve the quality of my pictures. Furthermore I love the interaction with the large blogger community. The most negative aspect would be that certain posts can be very time intensive, but getting beautiful comments is worth the work 🙂
Tell us something you learned from reading blogs you probably wouldn’t know otherwise?
Before reading blogs I knew hardly anything about good food photography. One of the things I really try to focus on is the quality of pictures on my blog. I get tips and tricks from other blogs and my blog wouldn’t be the same if I weren’t inspired by other bloggers.
Which other food bloggers do you follow most closely?
I love discovering new blogs and therefore always follow different blogs. I follow healthy living blogs like Kath Eats Real Food or Peanut Butter Fingers but also read those that are only about food like Simply Scratch, Eat Live Run or The Pioneer Women. The list goes on and on.
